Homemade Truffles Recipe
Directions for making chocolate truffle candies:
In a blender or food processor chop Finely chop I cup ( 8 oz.) of semisweet chocolate squares or pieces.
Place the chopped-up chocolate in a bowl.
Heat 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream in a saucepan over medium heat, just bring to a boil
Add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee powder; stir until dissolved.
Pour instant coffee and whipping cream over the chocolate;
Let stand for 30 minutes, until the chocolate melts melt chocolate.
Whisk the mixture until smooth and shiny.
Stir in 2 tablespoons vanilla extract. cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
The next day roll rounded teaspoons of chocolate mixture into balls and then roll them in 1 1/2 cups ground pecans.
Place candies in coffee mugs, wrap and refrigerate.
Makes 2 dozen delicious candies.
